Greetings, fellow creatives! We’re two writers from Los Angeles looking for like-minded, book-loving souls.
Whether you’re a published author, an aspiring novelist, a poet, or simply someone who loves storytelling, this group is for you. Our meetups are a space to write, share work, exchange feedback, and connect with other writers.
- Who: Authors, novelists-in-progress, poets, journaling die-hards, and anyone who loves stories
- What: Quiet writing time + optional sharing/feedback + community
- When: Saturdays, 9:00 a.m.–noon

Bring your laptop, notebook, or whatever medium you prefer, and commit to the process with us. Whether you’re just starting out or a seasoned pro, you’ll find a safe and welcoming place here.

Bi-monthly Beta Readers @ Violet Crown

Join us for our fall critique sessions happening every second and fourth Sunday starting in August. We'll meet in person at rotating coffee houses around Austin.

We exchange writing a week ahead of our sessions, read and leave feedback, and then meet to discuss. Please share your work via OneDrive at least seven days prior to the Sunday we meet (preferably in a .docx, .pdf, or .rft format). Notes and feedback can be sent to the author as in-text comments, oral discussion, or via email. Authors are encouraged to provide reader guidelines—including preferred feedback style, format, etc.—at the top of their submissions.During the meeting, we will discuss each submitted work in turn, determined by the number of attendees. The author can ask questions and talk about feedback at their discretion. Each session will close with a round-robin of personal writing and creative goals to accomplish in the coming weeks.

RULES
Submissions- Submit up to 2,500 words. Note: Word count does NOT include title, synopsis, or reader instructions.
- Only the first six works that are submitted will be accepted so that no one will have more that 15,000 words of reading ahead of a given session. Late submissions will be read and critiqued as time allows and will be first in line for the following session's reading list.
- Leave feedback as in-line comments, oral session feedback, or via email, as indicated by the author.
