This is a writing workshop that meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Winter Park Library. We focus on learning a new technique or method each month. A guest speaker will share a sample of their work and then give a writing prompt for everyone to follow.

This month, we're risking raising the ire of a lot of AI haters (haiters?), but it's important to at least "know the enemy."

Curtis Michelson will reprise a session he conducted with a group of journalists who use ChatGPT, CoPilot, Gemini, Claude, and similar genAI tools like Grammarly, [Writer.ai](http://writer.ai/), [Jasper.ai](http://jasper.ai/), and copy.ai. As writers, we must do the writing, but AI tools can extend our inner creative monologue. They can certainly brush up poorly constructed or overly wordy sentences. The discussion will be informal and involve a lot of crossover between fiction and non-fiction, as well as sharing how we already use these tools.

Curtis Michelson is an Orlando-based freelancer writing for Innovation Leader magazine. He is also an innovation coach who works with large academic and corporate leadership teams on growth strategy, advising teams on how to leverage GenAI in the most productive and ethical of ways.
