Details

This is a writing workshop that meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Winter Park Library. We focus on learning a new technique or method each month. A guest speaker will share a sample of their work and then give a writing prompt for everyone to follow.

We'll all write for 30 minutes, and then share our work with others, and receive helpful suggestions about what to improve. Bring your laptops, tablets, a notebook and pen, and a willingness to learn.

This month, Peter Gordon will teach us about publishing our poetry.
Do you have a flash drive or file folder full of poetry or other writing, and wonder what to do with it? In this session, Peter Gordon will show the options available for poets to get their work published in books and journals. Peter has published over 180 poems in journals, anthologies, and various platforms. He will discuss how he got started writing and publishing his work, and how what he learned can help you.

Peter M. Gordon is an award-winning poet with over 180 poems published in various journals and platforms. He's a founder and past President of Orlando Area Poets. He's led writing workshops for the Florida Writer's Association and the Florida State Poets Association, among others. He's also a journalist and has written a lot about baseball. He teaches in Full Sail University's Film Production MFA program.
