Orlando Word Lab
Details
This is a writing workshop that meets on the 4th Wednesday of every month at the Winter Park Library. We focus on learning a new technique or method each month. A guest speaker will share a sample of their work and then give a writing prompt for everyone to follow.
We'll all write for 30 minutes, and then share our work with others, and receive helpful suggestions about what to improve. Bring your laptops, tablets, a notebook and pen, and a willingness to learn.
This month, we will hear from three book authors about their experiences writing books and how the process works. If you've ever wanted to write a book but aren't sure how to start, you'll hear from a panel of experts about their knowledge, experience, and ideas. Plus, we'll tell you the dos and don'ts of submissions and publishing.
- Arielle Haughee is a children's book author and owner of Orange Blossom Publishing, which has more than 35 books in its catalog.
- Rebekka Edlund is the author of The Happiness Quest and is currently working on her second book.
- Erik Deckers is the co-author of five nonfiction books, two novels, and the ghostwriter for 11 books.
This will be the last Orlando WordLab of the year, as we take November and December off.
If you have any questions about how to get your book written, published, or promoted, this is a must-attend event.
