What we’re about
Writer's Round Table of Phoenix is a writer's critique group that focuses on personal and creative growth in our writing. We welcome published authors and beginners, and we critique in a collegial, informal setting (even if some of the tables are square)., . Check us out!
Our Motto: "Assist, not assault!"
We meet at 7:00 pm on the first and third Wednesdays each month, and operate through cooperative critiquing. Beginning November 07, 2018, we're meeting at Mimi's Café in the Winery Room, on the NE corner of 75th Ave and Bell Road in Glendale. As a pending member, you're invited to attend an introductory meeting to see firsthand how we operate. If you're still interested, we'll activate your membership.
We are currently space limited to 20 active members (6 to 7 per critique table), and extend invitations to pending members as seating becomes available.
Rather than read aloud at meetings, we exchange submitted work the week before each meeting to allow adequate time for review. We use the meeting time to discuss comments and feedback, and to suggest ways to improve each story or novel project. This gives a bit more depth to our advice and we feel it helps improve the work on many more levels. If you are willing to read the works of other writers and share your comments and suggestions--and to share your own writing in turn, Writer's Round Table might be the place for you. Please feel free to ask questions, or tag along for a meeting! You may like what you see.
