About us
Written in Colour is a roaming third space for anyone drawn to the power of a good story. While our roots are in South East London, we host intentional gatherings across the city to centre diverse voices and hold space for the kind of honest, unfiltered dialogue that narratives deserve. We believe the conversation should not end when the final page is turned; we create the environments where those stories can live and breathe.
The Lit Lounge
The Lit Lounge is our signature social series. These are refined, experiential gatherings designed to be cosy, chatty, and chilled. We move away from traditional book club formats to focus on depth, collective perspective, and the quality of the communal experience in a truly welcoming setting.
What to expect
- Guided Discussion: We facilitate focused conversations that examine the cultural layers and the craft within each story.
- Delicious Food: Every session includes a light, delicious meal provided in personal food boxes, allowing you to eat and socialise comfortably throughout the evening.
- A Welcoming, Chilled Atmosphere: Each event is held in a relaxed, cosy environment styled to mirror the themes of the book, providing a comfortable physical anchor for our discussion. - Inclusive Entry: Our doors are open to everyone. Whether you have finished the book, are halfway through, or have not picked it up yet, you are welcome to join the group and engage with the themes and ideas.
Who should join
This group is for anyone who appreciates curated stories and cultivated connection. You do not need to identify as a "reader" to take part—if you enjoy exploring themes of identity, history, and culture through narrative, you belong in The Lit Lounge. We prioritise diverse perspectives and meaningful social interaction in a relaxed, intentional setting.
