What we’re about
Welcome, one and all to Wyrd West D&D!
Join the conversation on Discord!
Over the course of the last year we have been through many changes, starting out simply as ‘West London Dungeons and Dragons’ all the way back in February of 2022, changing over to ‘LAIRS’ and now we embark on yet another change. We have grown as a community and as a team of organisers, so, starting in January of 2024, we have decided to rebrand as Wyrd West Dungeons & Dragons.
Our aim moving forward is to run more One-Shots for the community and more beginner games to welcome those who have never played this wonderful hobby before.
As we embark on this latest leg of our journey, we invite you along, both as players and GMs, and as such, if you have any questions, requests or inquiries, please feel free to message one of the organisers.
Welcome to Wyrd West D&D.

DMS WANTED!
As much as we love to run this club and tell these stories, there are only ever so many of us, and because of that we put the call out to you! Whether you're a veteran DM or simply someone curious about running a game, please let us know using this form: DM Interest. Thank you, and we hope to hear from you soon!
HOW TO JOIN A GAME
General rules
- You must be 18+ to attend.
- You must RSVP to the event.
- Read carefully the details in the Games Menu for each event, as we will regularly update the number of available sessions/seats based on the number of confirmed/cancelled reservations.
Games are typically split into two different styles, One-Shots and Campaigns. The easiest way to think of these is to think of a One-Shot as a movie, and a Campaign as a TV show. For the most part we will be running One-Shots for the community, allowing new players to get the hang of the rules as well as meet other players. If you wish to try and run a one-shot or start a campaign, we are more than happy to help, just contact one of the organisers.
One-Shots
- One-shots are very short adventures/stories that can be played out entirely during the course of a single game session (i.e., usually 2/3 hours or a single event).
- Seats at the tables running One-Shots are always reserved & assigned on a "first come, first served" basis.
- To reserve a slot in a One-Shot game with available seats, please send a message via Meetup to the Wyrd West Organiser, after you have RSVPed for the event.
- Players with a reserved seat who are not able to attend the event should inform their GM or the Organiser Team accordingly, in order to allow another player to join in.
- If the game you are planning to join is reported as FULL and you have not received a confirmation from the Organiser team that you are booked in for a seat at that game, then unfortunately you will not be able to join that table.
Campaigns
- Campaigns are a series of interconnected adventures, tied together in a more complex storyline that might take several weeks, months or years to play out, depending on the group.
- Seats at the tables running Campaigns are always reserved & assigned based on the output of the Session Zero (i.e, a discussion and introduction about the campaign, covering topics such as character creation, home-brew rules, story theme/tone, consent & safety tools, etc.) between the GM and the player willing to join. Both the new player and the GM must be in agreement about the player joining for the seat to be assigned.
- If you are new player wishing to join a regular campaign with available seats, please send a message via Meetup to the user LAIRS of the Leadership team, after you have RSVPed for the event, and they will get you in touch with your potential GM.
- If you already are a regular player in one of the available campaigns, please notify your GM about any change/modification to your attendance, and please note that you will still need to RSVP if you wish to join your game session during the event.
