HIKE:
Sunset is after 8PM so we will start to do the 3 climbs to get us to 1200ft elevation gain.

This is an intermediate hike (not for beginners), and we will move at a moderate/fast pace of about 3.3mph, and unfortunately with the parking restrictions, we can't wait for slower hikers since we need to finish before dark. There are two (or three) fairly large hill climbs on this Mount Misery/Mount Joy hike, so you need to be in pretty decent shape, and the rocky terrain requires hiking shoes. We need to keep a good pace to be able to finish before dark.

The meeting spot for this hike will be the parking lot at the Knox's Quarters Parking, so use the restrooms before you get here since this lot does not have one.

This is a "dog friendly" hike, if your dog will keep up and is friendly with other dogs, but you can not bring your dog afterwards unless it can stay in the car while we eat/drink. Your dog is your responsibility and needs to be on a leash in order to join on our hikes (I hate this rule too but we need to comply with it).

LAKE NOCKAMIXON STATE PARK
Come out to join for a day in the park, at Lake Nockamixon State Park, near Quakertown, PA. Meet some new members, and veterans, talk about our fun trips this past year, or chat about upcoming events and trips!

MOUNTAIN BIKE: 10:00AM
At 10:00AM, we will meet/park for mountain biking. Have your bike ready to ride by 10:15AM.
Mountain Bikers Park at the Tower Road Parking Lot (Google says it is located at 1 Fink Dr, Ottsville, PA 18942).

You should have a mountain bike, and not a hybrid bike for these dirt/rock trails. We will go for a 2 hour 8 mile loop around the well groomed mountain bike trails.

Kayak/SUP: Meet at 1:30PM (Tohickon Boat Launch)
We will pack up our bikes in our cars and drive around to the "Tohickon Boat Launch" which is on the Western side of the lake (Google Address is 11865 Mountainview Dr, Quakertown, PA 18951). If you are coming just for Kayaking/SUP, please park here.
For those attending both the Mountain Biking and SUP, plan to bring something to eat as you pump up your paddleboards. We will not have a set “picnic” but we plan to eat while getting ready. There are NO RENTALS available at this boat launch.

Arrive at 1:30PM to the boat launch to start pumping up your paddleboards and unloading your kayaks. We will plan to be on the water around 2:00PM approximately. We will plan to paddle for about 2 hours to be back to the cars at around 4PM.

You need a launch permit for kayaks and paddleboards (google PA kayak launch permit... you do not need to register your kayak, just get a launch permit). You should have a lifejacket and whistle as well.

Feel free to come for either part (mountain biking or kayaking/SUP), but let us know which parts you plan to join.

We may also go out afterwards for some food/drinks.

Join us as we ride the Schuylkill River Trail (SRT) from King of Prussia area, to the Conshohocken Brewery - about 10 miles each way (20 miles round trip). We will meet at the Park and Ride lot which is next to Plaza Azteca (near Home Depot) in King of Prussia right next to the Chester Valley Trail. Be ready to roll at 5:58PM.

We will be at the Brewery for about an hour, or enough for 2 beers (they close at 8).

The It's Better Outdoors group will be riding from the Boathouse Row area to the Conshy Brewery so we'll meet up with them there. If you want to start from that end, rsvp here for their event:

Any kind of bike should work (hybrid, road bike, mountain bike, but the trail is completely paved where we will be riding and we will hope to ride at a moderate pace of about 11mph). Wear a helmet and observe all traffic laws, we have several busy street crossings, and your safety is your responsibility.

We'll be riding in the dark coming back so make sure you have some kind of lights with you - bike and/or head lamps! Your safety is your responsibility. If you have one, bring an extra inner tube in case of a flat tire, etc. Test out your bikes before you get there.
