Primarily based out of Philadelphia area, but with members who travel with us from all over USA. Goal is for new club members to have a sense of community and to experience awesome trips to amazing mountains together. Snowboarding, Skiing, Mountain Biking (mtb), Kayaking, Paddleboarding, Hiking, Rock Climbing, floating, happy hours, etc.
Most trip coordination is done via Facebook Messenger. Please send a message to John Harper with userID jph183psu on Facebook Messenger so we can communicate easier. Often times people's Meetup settings aren't set correctly to receive emails, and if we send you a Facebook Messenger message first, it goes into a hidden section.
Please check your Meetup messenger every once in a while too, especially if you hope to attend a trip or meetup and haven't seen any communication about it.
We have some "sister" groups based in Philly, Boston, NYC, Denver with a lot of overlapping members that we hope to publish trips and events with from time to time.

Paddle Corson’s Inlet OC with Happy hour at Deauville Inn
Courson's Inlet State Park, Bay Ave, Ocean City, NJ, USThis is where we are parking please leave early!!! Shore trafficic Is no joke! We will launch promptly at 11am
- THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER PADDLE. This is a tidal body of water with strongg headwinds! If you are looking for a leisurely paddle, this is not it. All attendees must bring a lifejacket. All attendees should have foundational knowledge of tides, currents, and recognizing channels in open water. You are responsible for your own safety.
Come paddle at Corson’s Inlet! Corson’s inlet is a state park reserve with marshlands and sand bars.
There are two parking lots on the Corson inlet bridge. One is the state park entrance. It is $20 for non-jersey residence to launch, and $12 for Jersey residence to launch. However, on the other side of the bridge, there is a free parking lot where you can launch. Because this event is a Saturday, it will be crowded. You are allowed to park along the road and the bridge.
We will begin the paddle through the marsh. It takes about an hour and 45 minutes to get to the Deauville Inn without stopping. Please be aware that all times are contingent on the wind and tide direction. While the paddle is longer, it’s not excessively hard. You just move at a slow pace. However, if the wind and tide is strong, there may be moments where you may not move. If you stop paddling, every second is a foot lost.
The paddle through the marsh is relaxing, peaceful, and full of wildlife. There are boats, so please expect waves.
After we round out of the marsh, we are in the open channel that leads to the ocean. There are many sand bars along the channelandThe Deauville Inn has a beach. We can park up at any beach and enjoy the rest of the day. The Inn has happy hour from 2 to 6 but it is pricey. They do to go drinks. I encourage people to bring their own cooler of food and drinks to enjoy as well.
The paddle from the inn back to the launch point is probably the hardest you will have to work. It should take about 30 minutes, but there are strong winds and currents as it is open to the ocean. There are many more boats in this area. We will hug the coastline. If you drink too much, this will be challenging. Please be responsible. bug spray is also highly recommended. If you’ve never been bitten by a green head… You are blessed.
