Arabic conversation and short texts. Remembering Ziad Al Rahbani

Details
أهلاً وسهلاً
Every Thursday 6 PM PDT 8 PM CST or 9 pm EST
We start with introductions and conversation and select various activities to vary the pace a bit.
This week we will consider the Lebanese musical and theatrical icon Ziad Al Rahbani, son of Fairuz, who recently passed away. He lived a complex life in a complex country at a difficult time and could be controversial but represented the Lebanon of his generation. A podcast with a transcript about him from Transit Station ( Yalla Arabee):

We may also share a brief excerpt from one of his plays.
Various people show up every week, from relative newcomers to native speakers. Our goal is to develop a regular group of people at a lower intermediate level and above who can have a basic conversation ( even if not fully fluent). We are supportive and can help if you have difficulty getting an idea across.
