أهلاً وسهلاً
Thursdays at 6:00 pm PDT (8:00 CST, 9:00 EST).

Today we will take a look at the poem صَوتُ صَفيرِ البُلْبُلِ (Whistling Sound of the Nightingale) and the traditional story behind it where the poet Al Asma'i outwits the Caliph Ma'moun. A recounting of the story and the text of the poem are here:

Various people show up every week, from relative newcomers to native speakers. Our goal is to develop a regular group of people at a lower-intermediate level and above who can have basic conversations (even if not fully fluent). We are supportive and can help if you have difficulty getting an idea across. People at a beginner level are welcome as well, and hopefully, you will get some benefit from hearing Arabic spoken.
