Hike in Gatineau Park - For People Who Don't Drive Lol! 🌳🥾⛰️

Details

🚨NO-CAR HIKE IS BACK, BABY! 😎

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY — I won’t answer questions already covered here!

The NCC free shuttle to Gatineau Park has officially returned and so have the legendary hikes for people who don’t drive (or just don’t want to 😎).

Let’s kick off the season with a scenic hike along the Lauriault/Mulvihill Trail!
***
🗓 Date: Saturday, May 31, 2025 (TENTATIVE, weather dependent). I usually do my best to confirm whether the hike is happening 3–4 days in advance, so keep an eye out for updates!

📍 Trail: Lauriault/Mulvihill (Intermediate – 4.5 km loop, ~1 hr 15 mins). I’ll only be doing this one trail before heading out for the day, but you’re welcome to team up with others and explore more if you’d like!

Time & Meeting Spot details: Same as last year, we'll meet directly ON THE SHUTTLE! There are two meeting spots, but you can catch the shuttle from wherever you want:

  1. Ottawa side – Pīndigen Park: Be there by 9:30 AM (shuttle leaves at 9:40)
  2. Gatineau side – Canadian Museum of History: Be there by 9:35 AM (shuttle leaves at 9:44) --> I’ll be at this stop! 👋🏾

Note: The shuttle may arrive slightly earlier or later than expected. If it arrives early, feel free to board. We’ll meet at the Lauriault/Mulvihill.

🎯 FYI: I know some of you are used to the hike starting around 10:00 AM, but since I have plans in the afternoon on the 31st, we’ll be starting earlier than usual this time. I also won’t be able to wait for latecomers. Once we arrive at the Lauriault/Mulvihill trailhead, I’ll wait about 10 minutes max before starting the hike. If you miss us, you’re welcome to catch up—or hike solo!
***
🚌 Transportation: We’ll transit there together using the NCC free shuttle service 🚍🌸. No reservation is needed, but spots are limited—first come, first served.

🚗 Driving? If you plan to drive and meet us there, please be aware that there may be road closures. I’ve never drove to Gatineau Park myself, so I won’t be able to answer any questions about parking or road conditions. Make sure to check the NCC website for the most up-to-date information—it’s your responsibility to plan accordingly!
