What we’re about
Founded in 2015, the Yokosuka Council on Asia-Pacific Studies (YCAPS) seeks to enable professional growth and foster grassroots connections in U.S. base-hosting communities in Japan with world-class expertise on Japanese history and culture, maritime security, and international relations.
We are a volunteer run organization that hosts regular seminars, webinars, educational tours, networking, and exchange events in Yokosuka, Fussa, Okinawa, Sasebo, Misawa, and Iwakuni.
We hope that through education and exchange, we can help foster the next generation of international affairs professionals while also strengthening mutual understanding and friendship between Japanese, American, and other international community members.
