Each new year many of us resolve to maintain or improve our health by signing up for body-work classes.

Unfortunately, our best intentions are often stymied by class choices that are either too demanding, complex or simply not fun -- and therefore unsustainable. By mid-January it's not surprising that we have fallen off the wellness wagon.

If you're ready for a change, we invite you to join our 6-week in-person course: Simple Sustainable Qigong & Yoga for Health & Vitality, held Wednesdays at 10 to 11 AM from January 7th through February 11th. Ideal for all people and especially suitable for folks in the second half of life.

Jan. 7: Qigong & Self-Massage

We start the series with an introduction to qigong. Learn how to ground, center, calm and bring your awareness home to your body as you express gentle, flowing arm and leg movements synchronized to your breathing.

Jan. 14: Seated Chair Yoga

Learn how to simply, safely and joyfully stretch your entire body -- all while sitting comfortably in a chair. Discover soothing stretches for your lower back, knees and neck.

Jan. 21: Qigong & Acupressure for Healing

Qigong focuses the mind with flowing body movements that clear blockages in the body's energy channels and increase the health of internal organs. Learn self-acupressure points to treat arthritis, asthma, backaches, insomnia, sciatica, knee pain and more.

Jan. 28: Chair Yoga Standing

Building on our seated chair yoga, we will now transition to expressing standing yoga postures with the chair as a prop. The chair allows postures to be easily accessible for all adults.

Feb. 4: Qigong & Sound Vibration Healing

Trapped or suppressed emotions over a prolonged period of time are a contributing factor to chronic physical and emotional dis-ease. Sound vibration healing offers us an excellent way to release these emotional blockages. Learn how to use your own voice to generate tones, chant and sing that free the body-mind from chronic stress, worry, grief, loneliness and sadness.

Feb. 11: Yoga, Mindful Breathing and Meditation

Our health would not be complete without a peaceful mind, dwelling in the present moment. Learn that meditation is not the elimination of thoughts but the awareness of shifting mind states and the re-focusing of the monkey-mind when it starts to swing away from stillness. Practice concentrating on the four parts of the breath or an energy center within the body.

Each class will leave you feeling calm, centered, relaxed, stretched and tranquil. These feelings are among life's greatest treasures. Treat yourself as you invest in your personal health and wellness for 2026.

The course is taught in our luxurious carpeted studio by Frank O’Gorman, a yoga instructor and life-long yoga student who has been practicing qigong for over 10 years and is experienced in Shing-Ling-Mei, Sheng Zhen, and SunDo traditions.

The course is presented as a package and is subject to CT sales tax for a total of $95.72.
