Gentle Yoga Explorations with Jennie
Please come to this special Open Studio class! I have provided hand-outs of a yoga sequence to practice at your own speed a classroom setting with other like-minded students of yoga. You are welcome to go silently through the movements and add your own explorations, or work together in joyful camaraderie! Take the handout with you to continue your yoga practice at home! The room rental fee comes to $30 and we ask only that the students cover that fee - meaning if there are 5 students, the cost is $6 p.p. or if there are 10 students, the cost is $3 for this class. I will return for class on AUGUST 6th! - - - - - - - - - Looking for a yoga experience where you can feel free to just be yourself? We offer a joyful, gentle exploration of the body, mindfulness and the breath, as well as a wonderful practice of toning, strengthening and relaxation. All levels and abilities can enjoy the many benefits of this gentle, classical yoga. Much attention will be given to the strength and fluidity of the spine, as well as using breathing to release tension from the body from the inside out. Classes are a relaxed 75-minutes in length. Any specific health concerns should be brought to the instructor's attention before class to allow for accommodation for injuries or health issues. There is a bathroom on premises. • There is free parking at the back of the building. Jennie Akse-Kelly, has been practicing yoga since 1989 and began training to teach in 2001. She lived for a year in India (2003/4) to immerse herself in the study of classical (Patanjali and Hatha) yoga, including 300 hrs teacher training and a 6-month residential yoga therapy training (about 800 hours). She has also studied yoga and meditation with A.G. Mohan, Ester Myer’s Studio, Kripalu Yoga Centre, Sivananda Yoga and others, in Canada, USA, India, Thailand and Sri Lanka. Jennie has been teaching internationally since 2004 (Amsterdam, North Carolina, India, Sri Lanka, Thailand; and, closer to home; Hamilton, Burlington and Toronto, Canada.)

This group is for people who are looking for a class where they feel allowed to just be themselves and to explore yoga and what that means - in their own personal context and experience. All levels and abilities can enjoy the many benefits of gentle, classical yoga.

About Jennie:

I am a yoga teacher, wild-foodist and herbal forager who loves to share what I know and learn from others in the meantime. My students are always teaching me.
