Stand Up Paddle Board (SUP) Yoga now has its separate group, an extension of the already existing Yoga in Nature™, NC group! I am a certified SUP Yoga Instructor, with training in water safety, equipment and paddle instruction, as well as specific techniques for practicing yoga on the board. I also own Yoga in Nature™ and teach yoga (on land) as an E-RYT 200 instructor. Yoga is my passion and nature is my playground:)
This group is to bring those who want to try or already have a paddling and/or yoga practice, geared towards beginner to intermediate SUP Yoga students (and there is usually a first timer in every group). If you want to enjoy nature and be out on the water on your paddle board (usually during the months of April - October, weather permitting), this group is for you! We have practiced and will continue to practice in these various locations: Lake Crabtree, Falls Lake, Lake Wheeler, Jordan Lake (private location). You will find most classes are limited to 10 people, for more individual instruction. Classes will tend to be on weekends, with some occasional options for mid-day or evening classes.
You should have your own board or can rent one at some of these locations mentioned, above. I will also have 1 board to rent, each class. I will have an anchor for each attendee to borrow, unless you have your own, for anchoring down for the yoga practice.
Classes run 1.5 - 2 hours. 20 minutes for paddling out and anchoring down; 1 hour yoga class; 20 minutes to paddle back in; hand out for conversation and fun warm weather treats.
