Hands On Intro: Students will learn the following Learning Outcomes. Hands On exams and multiple choice written quizzes given for each day of the two day live course. There will be a brief quiz in the morning of the second day. No prerequisite.
14 Learning outcomes, introductory level, with the advantage of hands on learning.
Learning outcomes. Each student successfully passing this course will have an introductory level of understanding of these learning objectives, and be able to describe each one, and apply it to tasks required as appropriate. See detail below.
This is a blueprint of the learning objectives. It is applied to every module of this course. Every module will explore these learning objectives, with different aspects of each learning objective, as appropriate to the venue. Live courses will have hands-on applications of the learning objectives blueprint. Online courses will focus more on understanding the principles of the learning objectives blueprint.
Each successive level of this course will build on the previous one.
-
Accurate observation of the client or patient.
-
Assessment of posture. We will pair up and assess each other’s posture.
-
Plumb line photos. How to set them up, take them, and also the analysis of the plumb line photos. We will pair up, take photos of each other, and assess these photos.
-
Musculoskeletal balance assessment. We will pair up, and do a musculoskeletal balance assessment of each other.
-
Gait analysis, with video, which I recommend, for both you to study, and also for the client to study. We will pair up, and film with video camera each other walking back and forth, then analyze each gait video.
-
Movement analysis, also with video for the same reasons. We will pair up, and learn how to operate the video camera to film movement, then analyze this movement.
-
Develop a treatment plan, and how to modify it, as you are going along with your sessions. This will be in writing on the client intake form, and in the verbal client intake interview. Also modified as we work together in pairs.
-
Physics relating to movement, posture, and musculoskeletal balance. This will be a brief introductory treatment of the relevant physics, not as extensive as the online course.
-
Clinical practice overview. A brief introduction to the clinical practice overview. Not in as much depth as the online course, but with more relevancy to be in my clinic, to see everything in person.
-
In-depth study of methods. An introductory treatment of the main methods that I employ in my clinical practice. Not as extensive as the online course, but it will be hands on.
-
Pathology. An introductory treatment of pathological conditions relevant to client intake, posture and assessment, musculoskeletal balance and assessment, and appropriate for the movement exercises and focused massage therapy sections.
-
Healing Light Kata, a movement form of exercises that I have developed. It is a fusion of Supreme Ultimate Fist, Yoga, and Posture Exercises designed to bring the body into neutral posture and musculoskeletal balance, focus the mind for accurate perception and accurate memory, flowing into the correct path. A brief introduction to the forms. There are a total of ten forms. We will explore the first 4, and elements of the other six.
-
Focused Massage Therapy is a fusion of ten modalities that I use in my practice. We will explore working on each other with these modalities as appropriate to each treatment plan for that person, plus demos of more techniques. We will work on the Massage Table, Massage Mat, and fully clothed on the floor with a cotton blanket. Appropriate draping will be employed during all Focused Massage Therapy sessions.
-
Conclusion with Case Studies and Outcomes. We will examine what we have learned working with each other thus far in just two days’ time, to establish case histories and outcomes. We will discuss the outcomes. We will also look at how to set up research studies with case histories.
