From the Teacher Ruba Shanti, "According to yoga, the universe is made up of five elements: earth, water, fire, air and ether or space. The characteristics of these elements are also within one’s mind, body and emotions.

Yoga in Elements classes will explore these elements and incorporate the laws of nature into yoga practices. Each element controls a different part in the body. For example, Earth in body is presented in bones, flesh, skin and hair. If an individual’s elements are imbalanced, practicing yoga with these elements in mind can purify the body and restore balance.

The main focus of the Earth Flow class is on grounding, creating stability and building strength. The grounding postures will result in sending energy downwards to feel rooted and connected to the earth. The earth element is a great foundation for Yoga practice as it connects the physical body and the mind with feelings of commitment and confidence.”
