About us

We are an affiliate of Yokoji-Zen Mountain Center, a fully accredited Zen Buddhist Training Center located in the beautiful wilderness of the San Jacinto Mountains of Southern California.

Our home is at the Seal Beach Center for Spiritual Living,
500 Marina Drive, Seal Beach

We meet on Saturday mornings in our beautiful space with the following schedule:

8:30 AM – setup meditation space in church
9:00 AM – recitation of Heart Sutra followed by 30 minutes of zazen
9:35 AM – kinhin (walking meditation)
9:45 AM – 2nd zazen sitting
10:15AM – refreshments and socializing
10:35AM – dharma talk
11:05AM – announcements, 4 vows, followed by takedown meditation space
11:30AM – end

You are welcome to come for the entire program. If you are short on time, you are welcome to come for any part. Some possibilities:

• 8:30-10:35 – 2 sittings + kinhin + social
• 9:45-11:05 – 1 sitting + social + dharma talk
