Inspired by true events that took place on Sunday 15th October 2023.

In the quirky streets of Boston Spar and the whimsical lanes of Thorpe Arch, a treasure hunt of epic proportions is about to unfold. Welcome, adventurous souls, to a quest that promises more laughs than a barrel full of monkeys and more twists than a pretzel factory run by contortionists!

Imagine yourself donning a tricorn hat or a pair of oversized sunglasses, your trusty map in one hand and a comically large magnifying glass in the other, as you set out on an expedition that's part Sherlock Holmes, part Scooby-Doo, and entirely bonkers.

But hold onto your hats (literally), for this treasure hunt is not for the faint of heart or the easily flustered. Oh no, dear adventurers, you'll need the cunning of a fox, the agility of a cat, and the sheer dumb luck of a Scooby-Doo himself, to navigate the challenges ahead. Will you outsmart the cunning puzzles hidden amidst the streets of Boston Spar and Thorpe Arch, or will you end up chasing your own tail like a dog with a bone?

So strap on your silliest hat, pack your sense of humour (and maybe a spare pair of socks, just in case), and prepare to embark on a treasure hunt like no other. Because in Boston Spar and Thorpe Arch, where the absurd meets the absurdly entertaining, the only thing more valuable than the treasure itself is the laughter that echoes through the streets. Let the hunt begin!

How to get to Boston Spa!
Ok its not on a convenient railway line, which is why Boston Spa never became as popular as other spa towns like Harrogate, but bus services are good from Harrogate and Leeds (bus no 7) and at the time of writing single fares are capped at £2! Otherwise Boston Spa is just of the A1(M) at junction 45.

Let's celebrate the longest day of the year with a Summer Solstice Walk.

Prepare for a Summer Solstice trek that'll have you saying, "Why did Graham bring a ladder? Because he heard the drinks at the Gardeners Arms are on a whole new level!" See you on the sunny side of the gorge – where laughter reigns supreme, and the only thing we take seriously is having a seriously good time!

A moderate 4 mile ish circular walk from Bilton Lane next to the Nidderdale Greenway car park, walking along the Nidd Gorge and with a well earned final stop at the Gardeners Arms. Same as last year, but going the other way round.

The route is mostly on grassy paths, tarmac lanes and cycle tracks but also includes some steep descents and climbs by the river, which may be very boggy and muddy if it has been raining.

As with all the trails, I am asking for a donation of £3 to be paid on the day. The money raised (after Meetup website costs etc) will be donated to MIND and Dementia UK.

In the picturesque town of Wetherby, where the sheep roam freely and the treasure hides sneakily, a grand adventure awaits! Picture this: a treasure hunt like no other, where ewe will navigate through the charming streets, dodge woolly obstacles, and unravel even woolier clues more mysterious than a sheep's preference for grass.

So grab your map, gather your flock (or friends, whichever comes first), and prepare for a treasure hunt that promises more twists and turns than a sheep's winding trail through the meadow. Get ready to baa-gin your journey and uncover treasures that will make you feel as rich as a farmer with a field full of prize-winning sheep!

This is a 2 mile walk mainly on footpaths and pavement.

Explore Yorkshires biggest and higest public artwork and its inspiring surrounding geology and mines.

Welcome, fellow adventurers, to a geological jaunt that promises more excitement than a rock in a tumbler! Join us as we embark on a trek around Coldstones Cut and Greenhow, where the rocks have stories to tell and the land is as old as that joke your dad told at every family gathering.

As we lace up our boots and prepare to venture forth, let me assure you: this isn't your average stroll in the park. No, this is a geological safari, where every stone is a character in the epic saga of Earth's history.

So, grab your magnifying glass and your sense of humor, because we're about to dive headfirst into the thrilling world of rocks, minerals, and geological puns that are so bad, they're practically sedimentary. Get ready to rock and roll, folks, because this geological adventure is about to shake things up like an earthquake at a disco!

This is a 4 mile walk on paths and trails which can be uneven and sometimes muddy. Good footware advised for this one!
