Join us for a mildly ambitious stroll to celebrate the Summer Solstice and Father’s Day — because nothing says “honouring dads” quite like making them walk to a pub and back on the longest day of the year.

All are welcome: dads, grandads, honorary dads, anyone that identifies as a dad, non-dads, anyone who once had a dad, or anyone who simply enjoys a walk with a pub conveniently placed in the middle — and another at the end.

We’ll set off from Bilton Lane car park and head to The World’s End for a well-deserved beverage. Then in a bold display of optimism and questionable planning, we’ll head back to The Gardeners for another drink, purely for rehydration purposes.

Expect fresh air, cheerful company, a few complaints about knees, and at least one dad insisting he “knows a shortcut.” The route gives us plenty of time to enjoy the longest day of the year, reflect on fatherly wisdom, and debate whether the second pint really does count as hydration.

The walk is about 4 miles, (in total) mostley on easy footpaths, with only a few inclines.

As with all trails, I’m asking for a £3 donation, payable on the day. Money raised, after Meetup website costs, will be donated to Mind and Dementia UK.

When you RSVP, you accept that you remain responsible for your own safety at all times. Please respect other attendees and be mindful of the safety of others.
Thank you!
G :)
