Hike Rock Creek Park Parking Lot 9 Loop Hike - Lunch, VA Sunday April 13

It’s spring and perfect for a hike in Rock Creek Park. Come join us on a moderate 3.5-mile loop hike along Rock Creek with some meanderings up some moderate inclines with nice creek overlook stops. The trail is mostly easy and flat, but there are some areas that may be a bit muddy.

Bring a mascot! The park is dog-friendly, but our mascot must be on a leash.

What to Bring:
Good hiking shoes
Water
Snacks

Meet: 9:30 am

Parking Lot 9 Location: Beach Drive on the right just above Sherrill Drive (38°58'25.9"N 77°02'25.3"W)

Note: there is no close public transport. Other than coming directly by car, there are two options:

1. Bus: You can get to the parking lot from Aspen Street from the bus stop at Georgia Ave & Aspen Street.
2. Metro – Tenley Town: we can pick up folks right outside the entrance at Albermarle & 40th street.

Duration: About 2.0 to 2.5 hours

For those interested, we can get a bite to eat afterwards at Tenley Town.

In the comments section please indicate if you need a ride. If you are coming by car and wouldn’t mind picking someone up at a convenient metro stop, please indicate how many people you can take. Hopefully we’ll have enough room for everyone. I can pick up three at Tenley Town metro.
