Catoctin National Park Loop Hike [Moderate/Hard- 10.5 mi]
Details
This is a mostly moderate/hard 10.5-mile loop hike with a few steep trail segments. But it’s all worth the several fantastic overlooks. Total elevation gain is 1900 ft. If we have time, we can make a quick out and back to the ever-popular adjacent Cunningham Falls.
Location: 14707 Park Central Road, Thurmont, MD 21788 (Visitor Center)
No park entrance fee.
Four-legged mascots are very welcome but must be on a leash and remain on established trails. They are not permitted on rock formations. For more: https://www.nps.gov/cato/planyourvisit/pets.htm.
