## We watched Peter Jennings report the fall of the Berlin Wall, then, yada, yada, yada, we worried Y2K would crash all the computers and leave them, like, totally buggin’.
In between the opening and closing of the 1990s, genres of music rose and fell, Blockbuster made everyone a critic, TV became must see, Beanie Babies replaced retirement plans, and at some point we all did the Macarena. You’ve got mail greeted us to the internet, a president was impeached, scientists cloned a sheep, and we learned that if it doesn’t fit you must acquit.
The rise of the world wide web created an information superhighway that amplified voices and connected people in a way we’d never seen. It was the last decade before the future, the bridge decade that laid the foundation for the world we navigate today—the last time we controlled technology, and technology didn’t control us.
Now, with enough distance to gain perspective, historians can finally tell the story of the 90s and its profound influence. The 90s: Last Decade Before the Future will give everyone who sees it the chance to journey back to a time that shaped our modern world. Visitors will dive into the era's rich history and come to understand something which they intuitively knew but perhaps couldn’t quantify: the 90s changed everything.
