What we’re about

The purpose of this support group is not only to provide a place for young people with Parkinson's disease (PD) to share their experiences but also a place where a person with Parkinson's can learn from the experiences of others who have and are dealing with PD at a relatively young age.

We specifically seek Young Onset people with PD (that were diagnosed at or before age 50), or people with PD who are still working, or are physically active. Care partners are also welcome.

We strive to provide a hopeful and encouraging environment where members can be themselves and openly discuss the difficulties relatively young people with PD have in dealing with the disease, family and friends, and work.

In addition, our meetups occasionally will feature invited guest speakers who will speak about topics important to young people with PD, local events and happenings, or about community resources (e.g. physical and speech therapists, exercise groups, and clinical trials).

A diagnosis of PD is a life-changing event and can be overwhelming, especially for someone who is young, but it need not be. Someone in our group probably has experienced something similar so join us.
