What we're about

This group is geared towards younger (20s and 30s) individuals who are looking to experience new cuisines, visit new restaurants, share in interesting conversations and make new friends.

Meals range anywhere from $20 to $300 and run the gamut from casual to fine dining. You are only responsible for payment of the food and drinks you actually order. The host will check the bill for accuracy, and calculate each person’s share at the end of the meal.

Typically, we have 1-2 meals per week. We strive to cover an eclectic menu at variegated venues, from old school classics to new hot picks. Food suggestions and requests are encouraged. Depending on the restaurant and unanimous agreement, we will dine family style to try as many dishes as possible.

Meals are deliberately kept small at 4-6 people in size to foster a sense of community and enable bonding. New members are required to confirm in writing their RSVP in order to prevent no shows.

This is a not-for-profit meetup group. Donations will be requested twice a year by the organizer to cover the biannual fees that Meetup.com charges groups to operate on their platform.

We look forward to meeting everybody and exploring the amazing NYC food scene together! Thanks for joining! :-D

Marlow Bistro - Mediterranean

Marlow Bistro

All RSVPs to wait list, will move those attending over Monday. There are 6 spots for this event! Place: Marlow Bistro Cuisine: Mediterranean Location: Upper West Side https://www.theinfatuation.com/new-york/reviews/marlow-bistro RSVPs: Please do not RSVP No. You only need to RSVP if you want to come to the event. Please don't RSVP unless you are sure you can go. I notice the people who RSVP and then cancel, which is not fair to everyone else. I reserve the right to give priority to people who don't do this in the future. I'm not trying to be mean but it makes it much harder for me when people take spots and then cancel either quickly or last minute. Obviously more notice is better, but please try to only sign up (for waitlist as well) if you know you can come. Note that if you habitually cancel you will be removed from the group. As part of a new pilot program, members were given the opportunity to contribute a small amount toward the annual fee charged by meetup.com. Those members receive priority in RSVPs. They will receive a spot even if they respond later than other members. If you would like to be part of this program please message one of the organizers. Young Foodies never charges membership fees or adds any surcharge to the dinners. Even if the meetup is full, please put your name on the waitlist. I will let you know if a spot becomes available. Also, if there are a lot of people on the waitlist, it lets me know which kind of restaurants are popular so that I may schedule more of those in the future. Please note that meetup events are strictly for members. No +1s are allowed as reservations are made in advance and spots are assigned. First time members must confirm in writing that they will attend. Individuals that are no shows are immediately banned from the group. Additionally, those who do not respond to messages will be removed from the group. Lastly, please be aware that there is the potential for an event to be outright canceled or rescheduled last minute when low enrollment falls to 1-2 due to last minute cancellations or non-enrollment. It is the responsibility of the diner to check their messages, (I message individuals in this instance), and the event page to make sure the event is running. Thanks.
