Crown Shy

Details
Events in this meetup will be indoor dining unless stated otherwise. Per New York City mandate, all attendees must be vaccinated. You are responsible for bringing your proof of vaccination.
A note about RSVPs: This group will be enforcing a strict 2-day cancelation policy. If you are marked as attending you must cancel two days or more in advance. If you are on the wait list, you must change your response to "not attending" if you are no longer able to attend in case of a last-minute opening. You are responsible for checking the event page and your private messages to see what your status is.
Place: Crown Shy
Cuisine: Contemporary American
Location: Financial District
Menu: https://www.crownshy.nyc/menus/
We're going to try to eat family style for this event so we can try as much of the menu as possible. If you have any major dietary restrictions please let the organizer know in advance.
From Time Out:
A collaboration between James Kent, longtime chef de cuisine at Michelin-starred Eleven Madison Park and executive chef at NoMad, and Jeff Katz, managing partner of Del Posto. Crown Shy turns out excellent food and beautiful cocktails in an elegant environment that’s equal parts special occasion destination and nicer-than-normal evening whim.
Crown Shy feels important without being intimidating. It’s a this-must-be-the-place kind of spot that manages to remain warm and inviting. We're especially fond of the gruyère fritters, roasted short rib, and regally garnished Crown cocktails.
RSVPs: Please do not RSVP No. You only need to RSVP if you want to come to the event. Please don't RSVP unless you are sure you can go. I notice the people who RSVP and then cancel, which is not fair to everyone else. I reserve the right to give priority to people who don't do this in the future. I'm not trying to be mean but it makes it much harder for me when people take spots and then cancel either quickly or last minute. Obviously more notice is better, but please try to only sign up (for waitlist as well) if you know you can come. Note that if you habitually cancel you will be removed from the group.
Even if the meetup is full, please put your name on the waitlist. I will let you know if a spot becomes available. Also, if there are a lot of people on the waitlist, it lets me know which kind of restaurants are popular so that I may schedule more of those in the future.
Please note that meetup events are strictly for members. No +1s are allowed as reservations are made in advance and spots are assigned. First time members must confirm in writing that they will attend. Individuals that are no shows are immediately banned from the group. Additionally, those who do not respond to messages will be removed from the group.
Lastly, please be aware that there is the potential for an event to be outright canceled or rescheduled last minute when low enrollment falls to 1-2 due to last minute cancellations or non-enrollment. It is the responsibility of the diner to check their messages, (I message individuals in this instance), and the event page to make sure the event is running. Thanks.
