There's no single Latin American immigration story. A founder in Bogotá, a data engineer in São Paulo, a restaurant group owner in Guadalajara, a nonprofit leader whose family arrived two generations ago—same region, completely different options.
What they have in common is bad information. Most advice online is written for one visa category and assumes you already know which one you're in. This session starts a step earlier: what pathways exist, which ones fit which profile, and how people from the region have actually built businesses and careers here.
Ana Gabriela Urizar, immigration attorney at Manifest Law, is joined by Carlos Medina — Founder and President of the Modesto Foundation, Executive Producer and Host of the PBS series ¿Qué Pasa, NJ?, and, until earlier this year, President and CEO of the Statewide Hispanic Chamber of Commerce of New Jersey.
What we'll cover:

  • The pathways that come up most for LATAM nationals — investment and treaty-based options, work visas, extraordinary ability, and employment-based green cards — and who each one is actually built for
  • Which countries have treaty and trade agreements with the U.S., and what that changes about your options
  • How to build an extraordinary ability case when your work, your press, and your recommenders are outside the U.S.
  • What Carlos has seen work over a decade of building businesses and backing Hispanic entrepreneurs — the partnerships, the networks, and the mistakes that cost people years
