About us

đŸŒ”Bi-Weekly Women’s Desert Hike

Join us for a bi-weekly Wednesday morning hike to connect with local women, get some fresh air, and enjoy our beautiful backyard! This is a free, supportive group for local women looking to combine community and mindfulness.
đŸ’Ș Fitness Level Required: Moderate

Please note that this is a moderate fitness level hike. Because we have a firm 2-hour timeline to finish the just over 4-mile loop, attendees need to be capable of maintaining a steady, consistent pace on sandy, uneven terrain and gentle inclines without frequent stops.
📅 Next Hike Details

When: Every other Wednesday (Bi-weekly)
Time: Trail departure sharp at 7.00AM
Where: Black Rock Canyon Trailhead (Located at Black Rock Campground, Yucca Valley)
The Route: Short Loop Trail — A beautiful, scenic 4-mile ish loop with moderate terrain.
Duration: 2 hours (We will return to the parking lot around 9:00AM).
Cost: Completely FREE (No park entry fee required at this trailhead).
đŸ€« Our Hike Flow: Connection & Presence

To get the most out of our time in the desert, our 4-mile hike is split into two unique halves:
First 2 Miles (Social Half): We will spend the first half chatting, getting to know each other, sharing stories, and connecting as a community.
Last 2 Miles (Silent Half): The second half of our hike will transition into a quiet, meditative walk. We will hike in silence to take in the desert nature, listen to the sounds around us, practice mindfulness, and be completely present in the moment.
⚠ Strict RSVP Policy (Max 11 Guests)

Because we are hiking inside Joshua Tree National Park, park rules require us to keep our group small and informal. The hike is strictly capped at 11 guests plus myself (12 total).
Confirm Your Spot: Please RSVP only if you are 100% sure you can make it.
The 24-Hour Rule: If your plans change, you must update your RSVP at least 24 hours before the hike so someone on the waitlist can take your spot.
Two-Strike Policy: Anyone who "no-shows" twice without updating their RSVP will be removed from the group.
🎒 What to Bring & Park Rules

Water: Bring at least 1.5 to 2 liters of water. There is zero shade on this trail.
Footwear: Sturdy tennis shoes or hiking boots (the trail is sandy and uneven).
Sun Protection: Hat, sunglasses, and sunscreen are highly recommended.
đŸŸ No Dogs Allowed: Park regulations strictly prohibit pets on all dirt trails in this area. Please leave your furry friends at home for this walk!
📍 Where to Meet

We will meet near the Black Rock Nature Center parking lot (9800 Black Rock Canyon Road, Yucca Valley, CA 92284. This is by the visitor center). I will be wearing a cap that's in my profile photo, we will then walk to the trail head.

We leave for the trail exactly at 7.00AM, so please arrive a few minutes earlier to stretch and say hello!.

Neither myself (the organizer) nor the trail/park system is responsible or liable for your personal health, safety, injuries, or any lost items during the hike.
