About us
Discover Tokyo’s hidden history through relaxed walks, museum visits, architecture, railways, infrastructure, traditional festivals and cultural events.
TimeWalk Japan explores not only famous landmarks, but also the stories behind Tokyo’s neighborhoods, streets and everyday places. Our events are designed for beginners, so no specialist knowledge is required.
Our activities include:
- Historical neighborhood walks
- Architecture and infrastructure walks
- Railway and industrial heritage walks
- Museum and exhibition visits
- Traditional festivals and performing arts
- Seasonal cultural events
- Walks connected to articles and self-guided routes on the TimeWalk Japan website
Solo participants are welcome. Most people join our events alone, and both Tokyo residents and visitors are encouraged to participate.
Each event title shows the language used:
[EN] English
[EN/JP] English and Japanese
[JP ONLY] Japanese only
Please check each event page for the walking distance, duration, participation fee, admission fees and language details.
TimeWalk Japan also publishes English articles about Japanese history, Tokyo neighborhoods and self-guided walking routes.
