ABOUT THE EVENT
Join us for the Katsushika Fireworks Festival on the banks of the Edogawa River near Shibamata.
The fireworks are launched relatively close to the viewing area, creating an intense experience with bright colours, powerful sound and large fireworks spreading directly across the night sky.
The 60th festival is scheduled to feature approximately 20,000 fireworks together with a drone show.
We plan to watch from a shared area on the riverbank. The group will prepare leisure sheets, and participants may bring their own food and drinks while waiting for the fireworks.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The area around Shibamata Station and the riverbank will be extremely crowded.
After the fireworks, crowd-control restrictions may require us to wait before leaving the area.
The event will follow the official festival announcement. If the official fireworks festival is cancelled, this Meetup event will also be cancelled.

柴又・江戸川河川敷で開催される「葛飾納涼花火大会」を一緒に楽しみます。
葛飾の花火大会は観覧場所と打上場所の距離が近く、大きな花火と音を間近に感じられることが特徴です。
第60回の記念大会では、約2万発の花火に加え、ドローンショーも予定されています。
河川敷にレジャーシートを敷き、花火が始まるまで参加者同士で食事や会話を楽しみます。レジャーシートは主催者側で用意します。

ABOUT THE EVENT
Experience one of Tokyo’s most popular summer Bon dance festivals at Tsukiji Hongwanji Temple.
Lanterns illuminate the temple grounds as a large circle of dancers moves to traditional festival music and powerful taiko drumming. You can watch from outside the circle, enjoy the atmosphere or join the dance by following the people around you. No dance experience is necessary.
Tsukiji Hongwanji is also famous for its distinctive architecture, inspired by ancient Indian Buddhist design. The combination of the illuminated temple, music, food stalls and hundreds of dancers creates a summer scene found nowhere else in Tokyo.
The festival is sometimes described as one of Tokyo’s best Bon dances for food, with local Tsukiji businesses serving festival dishes around the temple grounds.

築地の夏を代表する「築地本願寺納涼盆踊り大会」を一緒に楽しみます。
提灯がともる境内の中央に大きな踊りの輪が広がり、音楽と力強い和太鼓の響きが夏祭りを盛り上げます。
盆踊りの経験は必要ありません。最初は輪の外から眺め、踊ってみたくなったら、周囲の動きをまねしながら気軽に参加できます。
会場となる築地本願寺は、一般的な日本寺院とは異なる、古代インドの仏教建築を思わせる個性的な外観でも知られています。提灯に照らされた重厚な建物、音楽、踊り、築地の食が一体となる特別な夜です。
築地にゆかりのあるお店による食も、この盆踊りの大きな魅力です。

ABOUT THE EVENT
Experience the sound, movement and energy of Balinese-inspired performing arts in the heart of Shinjuku.
Surrounded by the skyscrapers of Nishi-Shinjuku, the festival creates an extraordinary space filled with performances inspired by Indonesian music and dance.
The programme includes gamelan, the powerful sound of large bamboo jegog instruments, group singing, dance and other performances. The main highlight is Kecak, in which a large group of performers creates complex overlapping rhythms using only voices and body movements.
The repeated “cak” sounds gradually build into an intense and immersive performance. Dancers, masks and scenes inspired by the Ramayana add a visual story to the rhythm.
You do not need to understand the entire story to enjoy the performance. The sound, movement and atmosphere can be experienced directly.

イベント内容
西新宿の高層ビルに囲まれた会場で、インドネシア・バリ島の文化を取り入れた音楽や踊りを楽しみます。
会場では、青銅打楽器を中心とするガムラン、巨大な竹を打ち鳴らすジェゴグ、民族合唱、踊りなど、日常ではなかなか出会えないパフォーマンスが繰り広げられます。
最大の見どころは、多数の演者が声と身体だけで複雑なリズムを生み出すケチャです。
「チャッ」という声が幾重にも重なり、少しずつ大きなリズムへ変わっていく光景は圧巻です。衣装や仮面を身につけた踊り手も登場し、古代インドの叙事詩『ラーマーヤナ』をもとにした物語が展開されます。
物語の意味をすべて知らなくても、声の迫力、群舞、リズム、会場の熱気を十分に楽しめます。
