Visit to Weesp (15 mins from AMS)
Groene Brug, 1381 CC Weesp, Weesp, NLTucked along the gentle curves of the River Vecht, Weesp feels like a secret you’re lucky to stumble upon. Just a short trip from Amsterdam, it offers all the charm of a Dutch postcard—without the crowds. If you’re looking for a destination that combines beauty, history, and a breath of fresh air, Weesp might just be the perfect escape.
Things we can do:
1. Stroll through the historic center
Wander past canals, drawbridges, and centuries-old houses. The highlight is the picturesque Stadhuis van Weesp, beautifully set right on the water.
2. Visit the windmill De Vriendschap
Step inside De Vriendschap to see a working mill in action. You can often climb up and enjoy views over the town and river.
3. Walk along the River Vecht
Follow scenic paths along the Vecht River, passing elegant old villas and green landscapes—perfect for a peaceful bike ride or picnic.
4. Taste local jenever
Discover traditional Dutch spirits at Van Wees. A small tasting gives you a feel for Weesp’s long-standing distilling heritage.
5. Relax at a waterside café
Settle down at a terrace by the canals, order coffee or a local beer, and watch boats glide by—it’s the simplest way to soak up Weesp’s laid-back atmosphere. How to get there: It's a 15-minute train ride from Amsterdam Centraal. Let's meet at the Groene Brug.
I will be driving, so I can also accommodate 4 people coming from Zaandam (I can pick you up at K+R near the station).
