What the Buddha calls "Mindfulness"

Details
The Buddha taught the practice of mindfulness (sati or smrti) to develop tranquility and insight. Remembering to bring the mind back to the present is the way mind (attention) is initially applied then sustained and collected. But what gets called "mindfulness" nowadays is so watered down it can refer to any kind of awareness. Mindfulness is much more. And the benefits are profound. We look at what the Buddha says about it in the practice of insight as the path to enlightenment here and now. Free/donation. Vegan refreshments served.
