100 Year Monk Life Celebration: Ven. Dhammarama

The oldest Buddhist monk in America is Sri Lankan Theravada bhikkhu Venerable Dhammarama. Everyone calls him "Bhante." He came to America decades ago and opened the Beachwood Temple (Los Angeles Buddhist Vihara on Beachwood Dr. in Hollywood), which then moved to Pasadena and then on to a much bigger temple complex in Covina (Mindfulness Meditation Center – Covina – Los Angeles Buddhist Vihara), far to the east in the San Gabriel Valley.
