Live mindfulness meditation, Monrovia Community Center (FREE)
Details
DUE TO EXPECTED RAIN, WE'LL BE INDOORS IN THE MONROE ROOM of the Monrovia Community Center, 119 W. Palm Ave (Recreation | City of Monrovia). We may be gazing at candles.
Local Park Ranger Tod (who trained at UCLA's Mindful Awareness Research Center called MARC) leads a secular Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) meditation in a hidden corner of a delightful park.
The group is big, regularly reaching 15-25 participants each Monday. Nature contributes to relaxation. MBSR uses mindfulness (nonreactive awareness) to approach anxious states and transform them into opportunities to grow in awareness, joy, acceptance, and happiness.
Includes mindful walking, a gently guided meditation, and sharing afterward. Bring a folding chair, shawl, or blanket and an open spirit to sit with a heartfelt community nestled in LA's Foothills. FREE, no donations.
