Title: The quantum apocalypse and how to survive it
Presenter: Dr. Aleksandar Radovanovic

Abstract:
Is the "quantum apocalypse" imminent? Will quantum computers overpower conventional encryption methods? The advent of quantum computing presents enormous opportunity, but at the same time is a threat to today's cybersecurity. To address this problem, current cryptographic standards are gradually being replaced with quantum-safe algorithms and critical components of communication systems are being replaced with quantum-secure communications. In an approachable manner this seminar will highlight vulnerabilities of contemporary cryptographic systems, discuss classical and quantum remedies and equip you with basic quantum apocalypse survival skills.
