Sunday Dinner: Sankofa

Details

You bring dinner! We’ll bring the wine!

Community Dinner is a monthly, member’s only Zora’s House event that centers good food, good people, and good conversation! It’s an opportunity for members to get to know each other; dive into our monthly community theme; and unwind in a chill environment surrounded by food, wine, and like-minded women. (Honestly, what more could you want?!)

This potluck style event means every attendee should bring themselves and one tasty dish to share, and your friendly Zora’s House team will provide libations of the alcoholic and non-alcoholic variety!

January's community theme is: SANKOFA- Tapping into ancestral wisdom, in order to move forward with clarity and courage.

Event cost:

  • $15 (plus a dish) for non-members

2020 themes are as follows:

  • (Jan) Sankofa - Tapping into ancestral wisdom, in order to move forward with clarity and courage.
  • (Feb) Reclamation - An exploration, not of what we need to leave behind, but of what we need to reclaim.
  • (Mar) Pleasure - Exploring the radical notions of pleasure, joy, and self-centeredness.
  • (Apr) Bravery - What does bravery look like? At work? In community? At the dinner table with your family? An honest dialogue.
  • (May) Mother/Daughter - Communing as mothers. As daughters. As people navigating the perplexing spaces in between.
  • (Jun) Body Love - A celebration of our messy, imperfect, complicated bodies (and the relationship we have with them)
  • (Jul) Freedom - A gentle yet authentic look at personal liberation.
  • (Aug) Jealousy - Leaning in to what jealousy can teach us about what we truly desire.
  • (Sep) Elevate - An honest look at what's next and at what's holding us in place
  • (Oct) Grief - Acknowledging the people and things we are still grieving or have yet to grieve.
  • (Nov) Process - Leaving behind the energy of getting started, the longing to complete the journey, and embracing the messiness of being "in process."
  • (Dec) Rest - Exploring the concept of deep, soulful rest; what it looks like for WOC, and how to attain it.
