Zurich JS Meetup #5: May the Code Be With You

The JavaScript saga continues... As the calendar turns to May, a new chapter unfolds for our ZurichJS community.

We're looking forward to welcoming you on Thursday, May 15th to the welcoming halls of Smallpdf for an evening of stellar talks and connecting with fellow JavaScript enthusiasts. Prepare for hyperspace!

• 18:30 - 19:00 -- Carving your own path: a builder’s journey - Alex Suzuki
  Alex shares real-life lessons from his journey through multiple forms of self-employment — from freelancing and running a small agency to building and marketing his own product. You’ll get honest insights, practical tips, and a clear-eyed look at the ups and downs of each stage.
• 19:00 - 19:30 -- Load Testing with Confidence: Integration of load tests in CI/CD - Samir Akarioh
  Your application works great in development but what happens when real users flood in? Will it handle the load, or will it crash under pressure?
• 19:30 - 19:40 -- Lightning Talk open slot
• 19:40 onwards -- Meet and network with fellow JavaScript fans

#### About the Speakers

• Alex Suzuki - Alex is a software engineer with two decades of experience building software. Over the years, he's worn many hats — from full-time employee to self-employed freelance contractor, founder of a small agency, and now solo builder. He's currently focused on growing his own product, STRICH — a fast, lightweight barcode scanning library for web apps.
• Samir Akarioh - Samir is a Developer Advocate @ Gatling

• Bogdan Ilie – Bogdan is a user advocate. He's dipped his toes into Web Development, Technical Writing, Marketing, Design, and more. That makes him uniquely predisposed to identify improvement opportunities anywhere in the chain, or come up with unique solutions to problems.
• Faris Aziz – A front-end master and React specialist, a Staff Software Engineer at Smallpdf, who’s been mentoring and inspiring devs across major conferences and open-source projects.
