ZurichJS Pro: June's server solstice

Summer’s heating up, and so is ZurichJS.

On Thursday, June 19th, we’re bringing the sixth edition of ZurichJS to life with a server-sized dose of JavaScript energy. 🌞

We’re going to be tuning into the pulse of NodeJS infrastructure and high-performance front-end frameworks like Qwik.

  Deploying Node.js at scale is an art mastered by few. The most common problem is an exhaustion of resources that allows the application to denial of service itself. The result is Node.js systems that are massively overprovisioned, wasting enormous amounts of computing and memory - keeping most of them idle.
  In this talk, we will do some math, discover hard truths, and implement a fix.

  The bar for high-performing websites keeps rising, and it's a critical factor for both user experience and search rankings. While achieving good scores is possible, it often requires significant effort and ongoing maintenance.
  In this talk, I'll show how Qwik makes it easy to achieve top web metrics, automatically, even as your application scales.
  We'll dive into Qwik's optimizer, explore the power of resumability and JS streaming, and uncover how its reactivity system works to deliver blazing-fast web experiences. Effortlessly.

#### About the speakers:

• Matteo Collina is the Co-Founder and CTO of Platformatic.dev. He is a prolific Open Source author in the JavaScript ecosystem, maintaining modules downloaded over 12 billion times a year.
  Previously, he served as Chief Software Architect at NearForm, a leading professional services company in the JavaScript space. In 2014, he defended his Ph.D. thesis titled “Application Platforms for the Internet of Things”.
  He is a member of the Node.js Technical Steering Committee, focusing on streams, diagnostics, and HTTP. Matteo is the author of the fast logger Pino and the Fastify web framework.
  He is an international speaker, having presented at over 60 conferences including OpenJS World, Node.js Interactive, NodeConf.eu, NodeSummit, JSConf.Asia, WebRebels, and JsDay. He is also co-author of the book Node.js Cookbook, Third Edition published by Packt.
  In the summer, he enjoys sailing the Sirocco.
• Wout Mertens has worked in IT for several decades, with experience in Unix administration and programming at companies like Cisco, Technicolor, and StratoKit.
  When he learned about React in 2014, he recognized its potential immediately. Now, Qwik gives him that same sense of excitement and opportunity.
  As a core contributor to Qwik, Wout focuses on improving the framework and making it easy for everyone to use.
  In his talks, he aims to inspire others to explore the next big thing in web development.

• Bogdan Ilie is a user advocate. He's dipped his toes into Web Development, Technical Writing, Marketing, Design, and more. That makes him uniquely predisposed to identify improvement opportunities anywhere in the chain, or come up with unique solutions to problems.
• Faris Aziz is a front-end master and Staff Software Engineer at Smallpdf, after his Engineering management job at Navro, a fintech company in the UK. Faris is a mentor, conference speaker, and workshop instructor, most recently at CityJS and other major conferences. He has contributed to open-source projects like Raycast and has mentored on platforms like Mentor Cruise. His projects include work on GCN, Eurosport, Discovery+, Fiit (a top UK fitness app), and he was the founding engineer of Navro in London. He also serves as a technical mentor at the Bletchley Institute.
