What we’re about
Welcome to a diverse group of Aquaponic and Hydroponic advocates in Southern California. Our members cover the full range of skill levels, from entry level to professional, but all share the passion of growing local, healthy, personally satisfying and sustainable food. Meetings will primarily be held at an urban farm in Long Beach, CA, but occasionally we'll partner with local organizations to host "field-trips" within the Southern California area.
Our members come from a diverse set of backgrounds that include engineers, scientists, horticulturists, greenhouse managers, rare fruit growers, and aquaculture specialists joined for the common interest to care for the planet, restore our resources and develop food systems for the betterment of humankind. We are looking at the global picture for Aquaponics and Hydroponics, reducing the impact of food production, and taking a closer look at the concept of "Food Miles."
