Ukulele Union of Boston

Special show rules this week!! (I'm really excited for this one)

Pick one song to make your own from the following three songs. You don't have to tell us which one you're doing prior to performing it.

Ain't That A Shame
I Can See Clearly Now
Can't Help Falling In Love

This week's challenge is to make it your own in some way. Find a way to personalize it. You could change the words, change the tempo, change the feel, change some chords (make minor into major or vice-versa, or make some jazzy sounding chords). Or just play it straight, but really connect with the lyrics so that it's something that's truly heartfelt to you. Whatever you do, think of a way that it expresses some aspect of your individuality. Don't worry about the fact that others might be doing the same song. The idea is for you to do it YOUR way, with YOUR interpretation of the song (as opposed to merely doing the song by rote).

As usual, we'll have fun. Have a drink before or during. We'll give first timers priority. We'll open things up around 6:45pm EST (or perhaps a little earlier) for jovial small and medium talk. We may have an extended showtime if enough people want to perform. I really want to allow people to show off their creativity here. But we'll end sometime about 8pm Eastern Time or a bit later.

Reminder: If you wish to play this week, indicate you'd like to do so in the chat here, preferably by Thursday midnight.

See you Saturday.
