Dear Los Angeles Brain & Consciousness Meetup Group Members,

I want to invite you to our new Brain & Consciousness Group on Facebook, created to supplement physical Meetups through online discussion with brain and consciousness health professionals, researchers, and other experts and interested parties worldwide.  It's barely started and already it's a diverse group that I've learned some interesting new things from!  So if you enjoy leading edge discussion about brains and consciousness, that's what we're here for.  Got a question?  Please ask!  Ideas of your own to share?  Please do!  Someone's likely to offer an opinion, even if it isn't what you want to hear.  If you'd just like to follow along quietly minding your own business, that's okay too, we don't mind sharing.

Nexus Theory Development

I would especially appreciate your ideas about and criticisms of my Nexus Theory of consciousness.  To my knowledge it is the only theory of consciousness that's testable experimentally, and I'm working now to accomplish that.  If you work in a neuro lab and would like to consider collaborating with me to test this exciting concept about where consciousness comes from, please get in touch I have been looking for you.

I've uploaded some images of cilia and microtubules which help to illustrate some of Nexus Theory's mechanisms, they're in the Album titled 'Cilia'.  If you ever wondered exactly where are some of the microtubular quantum units that Stuart Hameroff talks about, they are identified in the Comment to the appropriate picture.  There are also some examples of interference pattern in the Album titled 'Light Interference'.

You can join the Group online at and you can 'friend' me, your Group's Organizer at, where you can see Nexus Theory summarized. Thanks for your interest in Brains and Consciousness!
