We have a member who is working with a magazine called ConNotations and would like to call for submissions.
It is a magazine based on speculative fiction: Science fiction, Fantasy, alternate histories, paranormal, etc. They have an estimated readership of over 7,000 people.
I have listed the general guidelines below. If you have any further questions, please email [address removed], or you can check out their facebook group at http://www.facebook.com/groups/194865130581406/ANNOUNCING -- I have been appointed the new Managing Editor for ConNotations Magazine for CASFS (Central Arizona Speculative Fiction Society). ConNotations has been in print for over 21 years. We will be restructuring the printed version and adding a web version for viewing all over the world.
- This magazine is friendly to reprints (IE, you can submit a story that has already been published in the Palo Verde Pages, or any other magazine, as long as you currently have the applicable rights to your story.) If your story is published in ConNotations, you retain the rights to your story as well.
- While readers of speculative fiction are generally open-minded people with a very wide scope of what they read, this is still a family-oriented publication. Any fiction will need to be rated G or PG without graphic violence or sex. The language must also be restricted accordingly. This is not the place for political grand-standing or to express your platform or to push your religious views. Obviously, anything science-fiction or fantasy oriented will take precedence over other genres, but these readers are widely read, so we will consider other works. We will also consider serials. Remember, this is a quarterly newszine for fans of speculative fiction who are convention attendees.
