I hope everyone's getting back on the water and enjoying the great weather. It was a crazy mild winter, and it looks like spring is jumping right to summer weather too. So here's a few friendly reminders-wear your sunscreen, hat and sunglasses, drink early and drink often (but not alcohol, until after the paddle!), and know your limitations in the heat. Also, keep an eye on your fellow paddlers, if they're struggling in the heat-slow down, find shade, get them wet, make sure they're drinking.
If you don't own a bladder-type water system yet, now is a good time to get one. It's easier to drink through the tube than to uncap a bottle, so people tend to drink more with one.
The power boaters are coming out in force now, and they're all bigger'n you. Paddlers have the right of way over them, but don't find yourself dead right. Follow the rule of gross tonnage, if it's bigger than you, stay out of its way.
I'll be posting up some classes soon, anyone want anything in particular?
Lots of people are planning to race and volunteer and the Great Bridge Lock Mess, thanks!!
It's great to see all the meetups going on, keep it up everybody!
