What we’re about
Who We Are:
The Seattle Triathlon Group is a non-profit organization in the Seattle area offering group events to local triathletes and multi-sport enthusiasts. Our goal is to offer free group training and support to triathletes of all levels and abilities, whether you’re new to the sport or a seasoned veteran.
What We Do:
Free group open water swims, cycling and running are offered throughout the week. We compete together at events throughout the year, including sprint, Olympic, half and full IRONMAN distances.

How much training do you have to do to take 2mins off your triathlon run time? What if you could get those minutes or more for free! That's what this session is about: improving your triathlon transitions and overall time with little extra effort. Through what will be shared here, I managed to get my Lake Wilderness transitions down to 38 seconds and 59 seconds.
Triathletes of all levels are welcome, including pre-first-timers.
This will be an interactive session, where we will first discuss and then practice the techniques. So please be sure to bring all of your triathlon gear: tri suit, wetsuit, goggles, bike, helmet, bike shoes, run shoes, etc.
Please arrive on time and be ready to go wearing your tri suit underneath any other clothing. Look for the STG tent and bike racks (thank you Stephen and Connie!).
We will be getting wet, but this won't be an OWS session, so no need to be an experienced OWS swimmer.
In order to participate in any Seattle Triathlon Group event, you must sign our electronic waiver. Waivers only need to be signed once per year or if your contact info has changed. You can login to your account at https://www.seattletri.org/dashboard to check.

- Our Open Water Swims (OWS) are non-lifeguarded, swim-at-your-own-risk events. As such, it is imperative that you be certain of your comfort level and ability to OWS. These are not designed for, nor should they be used for learning how to swim, or for inexperienced open water swimmers. An inexperienced OWS is a danger to themselves, and those around them. If you are not certain about your OWS capabilities, we suggest practicing at a lifeguarded swim beach or at a event designated for beginning open water swimming.
- There is NO guarantee of access to changing rooms/lockers, or gear watch on the beach.
- A swim buoy with a dry pouch is useful to bring your phone and keys with you on the swim.
- A wet suit is optional depending on your comfort level. Water temperature as of June 9 is above 70 degrees.
