Appreciating Pulau Ubin Nature with Under-Privileged Kids on foots

Details
Event Date is now fixed : 11 Dec is the day.
Details has been finalized. Program timetable + briefing note will be emailed to those going separately.
Note :
Very likely we will have more volunteers than the 27 kids coming. Hence; kindly manage your expectation in term of being able to fully interact with the kids. If you don't mind that and still like to enjoy the rustic charm of Pulau Ubin & Chek Jawa in the company of new like-minded friends; have a simple lunch on the beach facing M'sia - join us. You're welcome.
Info I know : This is NOT an orphanage or any organization funded by government or MCYS at all. It's started by a few kind-hearted individuals not under any charity organization or MCYS list. They do NOT have resource to do fund-raising and all operating expenses are out of their own or kind Samaritans and benefactors. The home is registered under The Society of the Father & The Son.
Right now they only manged to support 18 kids in a rental home somewhere along Yio Chu Kang. These kids are from families who are financially, emotionally & spiritually challenged in their life : both their parents & the children.

Hence; When you arrived at Changi ferry terminals, please do NOT wait or look for us, go ahead & take the ferry across. Waiting point is at Pulau Ubin Jetty - 9 am. Or Else we will have too many people waiting for the bumboat which can only takes 12 passengers per boat. Unnecessary time will be wasted on the ferry waiting !
There will be 2 main portion of the event : (Depending on actual time on that day)
(1) Nature hike (Chek Jawa, Balai Quarry, Mamam seaside)
(2) Outdoor Education/Games (involving nature)
Items to bring for the kids (optional)
Do bring floor matt for the lunch, if not having lunch on the grass patch will be nice too ! Umbrella Cap, Sunblock, Sunglasses ! 1st Aid box Water, snacks
ENCOURAGEMENT & MOTIVATION :
Some of the kids will definitely need massive amount of these 2 emotional push & pull from all of you. Some of the kids are over-weight and body low in sugar content. The journey & challenge to get them to the end point will be the highlights where you really gets to interact with them. We would also need some strong guys to carry those younger age kids should they get tired & refuse to walk.
Lunch delivery Party : Person in charge Mark Soh 98296394
Mark will be in charge of the lunch party. They will receive the pre-ordered lunch at Changi, take ferry & deliver to our lunch point by renting the minivan at the Ubin jetty. Anyone one wanting to give a helping hand pls be at the Changi Jetty by 11 am. Pls call Mark if you're joining them.
Voluntary Cost sharing Plan
The total cost of the bumboat + lunch + the Van rental for lunch delivery will be totaled up. As lunch need to be order & paid in advance - BOTH for the kids & those of you attending, it is agreed that those coming to contribute $ 15 to cover the above costs. Cost breakdown for the $15 : Your pack lunch : $ 5 (estimates only) Cost-sharing of the kids : ferry & lunch : $ 10 Any balance from the $15/pax or any extra collected will be donated to the center. Anyone willing to be auditors for the amount are most welcome. Have U confirm your lunch : What to pay ?
Total Lunch qty will be pre-ordered on 8 Dec 2011. Please make your order before that & do the pre-payment. The packed lunch will be delivered to the seaside - our lunch point. Lunch pack will either be chicken cutlet (mostly) or fish fillet. Both with Thai sauce, salad + rice + packet drinks. To minimize the logistics & admin workload, I will NOT be collecting orders for any "preference" choices. To play safe : Mostly 80% will be chicken. If you want us to pre-order + share the cost of for the kids - please pre pay $15 If you just want the pre-order lunch - please pre-pay $ 5. If you packing your own lunch but want to share the cost for the kids - please pay $ 10. I prefer NOT to deal with cash money on actual day - I simply dont have time on actual day. Please kindly make the internet transfer before the event. NOTE : To-date only a small handful of those re-confirm coming have made the pre-payment. We'll order the lunch based on those who have pre-paid. So there will not be extra lunch pack on actual day - if you miss placing order by Thursday 9 Dec, pls pack / bring your own lunch.
You're under NO obligation to pay - its voluntarily :
Our pack lunch will be PER-ORDERED by 9 Dec 2011, instead of the hassles of buying ourselves.
Our Challenge:
To ensure we order the correct lunch quantity for all so that no one is missed out - BUT at the same time, we also do NOT want to end up ordering too much food (due last minute somebody can't make it) and hence somehow the cost will have to borne by the rest. In addition; we have to fulfill minimum of 40 pax for the Bento set to be delivered to Changi Ferry terminal.
Reluctantly; I am proposing to collect the $ 15 in advance.
However; if you're uncomfortable with this, you are not obligated all. Whole event is purely voluntarily & at your own free will.
NOTE : we'll have to order the lunch based on those who have pre-paid or have given firm reply to count their lunch in. Our pack lunch will be PER-ORDERED by 8 Dec 2011.
If not; please pre-arrange / pack your own lunch. And we will not count your lunch in.
As we are not any organization, so we don't have a special a/c for this, all the payments would have to send to personal a/c. If anyone has a special a/c for this that is segregated, please let us know.
If not, Please ensure you keep your proof of payment to help me keep track of every single cents. Sms 9296-1943 after the transfer.
