## Machapuchare: A Sacred Mountain
Unlike most Himalayan peaks, Machapuchare Peak 6,993 meters has never been officially climbed or summited. This is because it is considered sacred to locals and held in reverence. According to Gurung traditions, Macchapuchhre is the abode of Lord Shiva, protector of the region.
Famously called 'Fishtail' Peak or the Nepa's Matterhorn, is one of Nepal's most iconic and enigmatic landmarks. The Fishtail name refers to the fish-tail-like shape of its twin summits. With its distinctive fishtail-shaped double-summit, Machapuchare has captivated the imagination of trekkers, climbers, and nature enthusiasts worldwide.
The Mardi Himal Base Camp is around 4,500 meters & offers breathtaking panoramic views of mountains like Mardi Himal, Machapuchare (Fishtail), Annapurna South, and Hiunchuli.
Who's suitable?
This is a relatively moderate trek suitable for both experienced trekkers and active beginners looking for a challenging yet rewarding adventure & Majective snow cap peaks in the stunning Annapurna region of Nepal.
Need any domestic flights?
Yes & No. We will drive 6 hours from Kathmandu to Pokhara. We can drive back after the trek. But for once let's take a short 30-minute flight with glorious views of the Himalayas and reach Kathmandu is good time?
How to prepare for this trek?
You must be physically and emotionally prepared to attain height and distance. A few weeks before the walk, jogging, running, swimming, and leg exercises would be excellent physical training to prepare yourself for the trek.

See all- Learning & Interactive session at Woodlands Botanical GardenMarsiling MRT Control Station, Singapore
How it get started?
"After grieving for a little while, I was thinking: โWhatโs the use of me sitting in a corner and crying? It doesnโt help the world or society in any way.'" ..... Ganesh turned to gardening, something he and his late mother did together.โค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธโค๏ธ
Attention: Lovers of Nature, Garden, Park: Block off this Saturday for this interactive and learning session with the founder of this community garden, Mr Ganesh โฆ
The Woodlands Botanical Garden (WBG) began as a humble collaboration between the NParks (Parks division) and Mr Ganesh Kumar in July 2020, when the COVID-19 circuit breaker in Singapore ended. Given permission to plant the hill garden comprising the sides of the walkway leading from the bottom to the top of the nine-storey northern slope of the beautiful Woodlands Town Park East, the garden replaced areas once overtaken by โlalangโ. This brought a myriad of colours to the once dull hill and gave the space more life and biodiversity. The main struggle of maintaining the plants involved lugging jerry cans of water up and down the hill numerous times a day, especially during the hot season.
Persevering and not letting giving up be an option, Mr Ganesh and his family pushed on to ensure all plants were well-maintained and happy. Along with this, many more people started walking the hill because of the beautiful planting, and this gave rise to many lovely new friendships between residents & visitors from near and far. They shared how the garden helped them forget their worries and problems and how it served as a beacon of new hope, proving to be a place of mental well-being as well.Limited capacity of 50 seats only.
Guests are not allowed - only for members. All must register via your RSVP on this page. Only members on RSVP are allowed.

From its green valleys spread with vineyards to its old churches and watchtowers perched in fantastic mountain scenery, Georgia never disappoints. In recent years TBILISI, the capital has emerged as one of the coolest cities in Europe, with a burgeoning club scene, world-class restaurants & a selection of natural wine bars that easily make it the hippest spot in the region."

FB Live => https://www.facebook.com/Singapore.Adventurous.Group
Constant elevation, endless uphills, burning lungs, and common respiratory sickness are usually some of the most common things that come to the minds of hikers who have done high-altitude trekking.
Less Oxygen, Challenging Environment, Weather, Weight, Eating Habits, common sickness, injuries, wrong gear & many more challenges await anyone who chooses to trek in those high elevations. But the unstoppable lure & calling of the mountains to hikers always overpower these obstacles. But can you better prepare? Of course, YES!
Join us for an evening of sharing sessions on high-altitude trekking & its challenges via our FB live. We will also share past experiences on Travel Insurance related to this topic. We are merely sharing our past experiences & mistakes, and by no means claim to be experts. Please do not take this sharing as professional or medical advice, as individual conditions or actual situations differ a lot on the ground.

Min 6 pax with payment to confirm
Max class size of 15 paxBring whatever hiking attire, gear & knowledge you have - join us on this practical outdoor class: simple yet effective training, right after all that theory, into practice.
WHY DO THIS?
After conducting so many hiking/trekking trips, we found the most common skill lacking in beginners, even some intermediate hikers, besides the lack of physical training, is => Not Learning How to Use Important Gear. This affected their abilities to either enjoy their hike or keep up the pace & complete the distance in good time. There are so many serious lacks of knowledge in the usage of gears & skills besides stamina.COMMON MISTAKES - which will be covered
- Planning a Hike That's Too Ambitious.
- Not Checking the Weather Before a Hike.
- Wearing the Wrong Clothing, footwear, and gear.
- Assuming Getting Help or Amenities Will Be Easy.
- Not bringing & consuming Enough Food and Water.
- Not Learning How to Use Important Gear.
- Pushing Beyond Limits.
- Over-packing or Under-packing.
- Don't research the trail/trek you're taking on
Focus of the training
Besides just theory & manual, the most effective way to teach is to show.
[1] This training will focus on basic gear use: Backpack, boots, poles, hydration & energy. Their various features & functions, and how to use them effectively.[2] Developing skills & confidence level over various terrains:
- Steep Steps & Slopes
- Rocky path & Boulders
- Use of 2 hiking poles for any terrain
- Dual poles in long endurance steps/slopes
[3] Prevention of blisters & cramps
[4] After learning & training the proper use of your gear, we will go on a short hike of 4-5 km over different terrain for practice. This is the most effective way to enforce the lesson. Yes, turn up in whatever hiking attire & gear you have: minimum is to bring or borrow a pair of hiking poles.
[5] Effective way of breathing for long steep ascents- esp. when you are panting & out of breath.
[6] How to hike using your hands as much as your legs and minimise impact on your knees via a pair of hiking poles - the correct usage & practice.
Training Manual will be given - kindly help us & respect our hard work by NOT SHARING with anyone who has yet to attend our training.
SUITABLE?
Anyone yet to start real hiking. Can for 5 km. Willing to learn.WHAT TO BRING?
=> A list of items to bring will be sent to confirmed trainees onlyRAIN OR SHINE - training will go on with some modifications. The rain is the most effective time to teach & test all your rain gear.
