"A religion old or new, that stressed the magnificence of the universe as revealed by modern science, might be able to draw forth reserves of reverence and awe hardly tapped by the conventional faiths. Sooner or later, such a religion will emerge." ...Carl Sagan*

The SolSeed Movement is an alternative to traditional religions. We embrace the scientific method and eschew magical thinking of all flavors. No UFOs. No homeopathy. No conspiracies. No psi powers. No miracles. No superstition. No supernatural. No paranormal. We adopt the cosmology provided by science and find meaning in "bringing life". SolSeed is about supporting each other in living the highest quality lives we can create, and more broadly it is about supporting and nurturing all of Life, helping it thrive and grow.

We hold weekly services that celebrate the upward spiral of life, and weekly work bees that allow us to contribute to life in creative ways that would be unavailable to us if we didn't deliberately step outside the rat race.  Our most significant events occur around the changes in the season, and often include a several-day reflective retreat held at a beautiful location in the Pacific Northwest.

Research shows we are happiest when connected to others and working toward a cause that is greater than ourselves. SolSeed is simply one experiment in how to live this way without giving up reason and autonomy.

We get to pick the future we are living for.  Let's not pick the one in which we destroy ourselves and our tiny ocean planet.  Instead, let's pick the one in which we come to deeply appreciate the body of all life that supports us and instead of killing it, we help it give birth to a family of living worlds.

The sky calls to us.  If we do not destroy ourselves, we will one day venture to the stars. --Carl Sagan
