A member alerted me to this, and I wanted to pass the information along to you. My apologies to those of you in the Art and Culture meetup who are receiving this email twice. I thought it would be of interest to both groups.
"A friend introduced me to a group within the "Nashville Film Festival" organization. A part of what this group does is read scripts for their Screenwriting Competition! It sounds like a lot of reading but you only read the 1st 30pgs of script (lots of white space on page) for the 1st/2nd round, plus 2 people always read each script for elimination or acceptance into competition. Scripts that make it to the 3rd round you read the whole thing typically under 200pgs I'm told. They give you an orientation explaining what to look for in a good script! Plus you earn points for movie tickets and behind the sceen "laminate" passes to be used at the Festival Film competition and the VIP tent depending on how many scripts you get to read!
· 40 points = Gold Laminate
· 25 points = Silver Laminate
· Every 6 points = 1 Ticket Voucher
· 0-5 points = Just NFF Many Thanks ;-)
Anyway I thought this would be something that many in the meetup groups you host would enjoy, especially the bookclubs and movie meet up groups! Email Michael wood for more info or if interested at: [address removed].
Due to great turnout this year they have a lot of script submissions and therefore need more script readers!
They are planning possibly 2 orientations for the script readers in the month of January. So if interested email
Michael a.s.a.p so you and/or others in the meetup can get in on an oreintation and get started!
Pass this email along if you like.
Who knows you might read a future Oscar awarded film! LOL! :-)"
