Members Nick and Bonnie Collier asked me to pass this email along to the group. Let's help them out!
Hi there,
Well those Irish folks in Bastrop are at it again.

We are having a month-long event in March of 2012.  ‘Where Irish Arts Are Smiling’ is a celebration of performing arts and includes two plays from the early Abbey Theater, a concert of Celtic music, a film fest, traditional Irish dance, storytelling and a gala  fundraising dinner featuring entertainment from Ireland.  The events will take place the second third and fourth weekends in March.  I will send the flyer with pricing, dates, performance times, etc. as soon as all details are finalized.

We are still recruiting a few folks and were hoping you could help spread the search for us.

We are actively seeking the following to complete or augment our event schedule:

Drama/Comedy Actors
We are also looking for two actors (male and female ages 25 – 45) to act in “the Tinker’s Wedding” by JM Synge and “Spreading the News” by Lady Gregory.  Performance dates are Friday evenings and Sunday afternoons from 3/9/11 through 3/25.

Celtic Music Program
The ‘Voices of the Gael’ program is scheduled for three Saturday evenings  (10, 17,24). It includes a variety of traditional tunes including vocals and instrumental.  We are looking for additional musicians and singers to complement our current performers, particularly a fiddler and flute player.    We are also looking for one or two bands augment our  ‘Music’ event.

Storytellers are needed to participate in the Storytelling event.

Whew – as you can see it will be a full plate for all attendees but with a slight twist compared to other ‘festivals’.   Everything is staged in the Bastrop Opera House and only one event going on at a time.  The acoustics are incredible and the beautiful old building reverberates with full rich sound.

Thanks for listening and thanks again for sharing your talents with us.
Cheers,
Bonnie and Nick Collier
