First up, there is no meetup this month because of Mardi Gras. We'll be back next month though.
In much more exciting news: Louisiana got a Startup Bus and it needs you!
If you don't already know what the StartupBus is, it's a bit like a
startup weekend or HackDat, but with way more exposure.
After some back and forth with the organizers in California, a
regional group was able to get them to commit to doing a Louisiana
StartupBus to showcase that we have real developers here with real
skills. It's a week on a bus (thankfully a pretty nice bus and you get
to sleep in hotels, not on the bus) headed to RackSpace in San Antonio
for a day of working on site there before finishing up in Austin
during SXSW for the pitch finals. You can get more info below.
The thing that made the bus from Silicon Valley stand out last year
was that they had more developers (and designers) than "idea guys" on
board and it's critical that we make sure we do the same. If you are
interested in being part of the Louisiana bus and helping be part of
something that's both fun and important as we try to build the
credibility of the Louisiana tech community, please apply at the link
below and let them know you want to be on the Louisiana bus.
Here are some links about the bus and how we got it for LA.
Happy Mardi Gras and we'll see y'all next month.
