Hello gnocode,

I wanted to extend an invitation on behalf of the Louisiana Drupal meetup group for an event next weekend at Launch Pad in New Orleans. If you've been curious about Drupal (yes, I know, it is PHP…) and would like to learn more, we have speakers coming in from around the country -- here's the schedule:

Please consider joining us. Here is the link to register:, and more info on the camp:

Join the Louisiana Drupal Users group on Saturday, March 29 at Launch Pad for the inaugural Drupalcamp New Orleans.

Drupalcamp New Orleans ( is an attendee-driven, completely volunteer initiative modeled after the open, participatory nature of bar camps. The agenda will include a full day of presentations organized into three tracks: Beginners, Development and Theming, and Case Studies for businesses and organizations evaluating Drupal.

Drupal is a free, open-source content management system. It is used to publish the web sites for organizations such as the NBA, the White House and The Weather Channel. Locally, Drupal is used by Tulane, Loyola, LSU, Audubon Nature Institute, Cafe Du Monde and Chef John Besh's restaurants.

Drupal developers are in high demand. With a free pre-camp Drupal training event on Friday, March 28 at the Audubon Zoo, the weekend offers an opportunity to get a fast start on the path to becoming a Drupal expert.

The camp will feature keynote speaker Chris Shattuck, the creator of BuildAModule, an online Drupal video training program that trains thousands of aspiring Drupalists every day. He has recorded more than 1,100 video tutorials, has developed a training model that is allowing communities around the world learn Drupal effectively and for free.

The camp expects attendees ranging from local organizations needing a web site, the regional technology community interested in learning and using Drupal, to out-of-state members of the Drupal community who are eager to travel to destinations such as New Orleans for Drupal events.

As an open-source community, Drupal users are passionate about the software and self-organize into local and regional user groups with meetups, Drupalcamps and annual conferences in North and South America and Europe. In South Louisiana we have an active local community that attends meetups the first Thursday of each month at Launch Pad in New Orleans, the venue for the camp.

For more information on the March 28 training event and Drupalcamp New Orleans on March 29, please visit or follow @LouisianaDrupal on Twitter.
